The first international GT race takes place at Paul Ricard. Over the first six races, the number of BPR competitors rises from 18 to more than 40. As Competition Director, Stephane Ratel enjoys Venturi's first win in international racing, when Michel Ferté and Michel Neugarten are victorious in Dijon, driving a 600LM. Whilst battling against Porsche, Ferrari and Lotus, three other victories are added at the 1000 km of Paris, in Spa and in Silverstone. The BPR Organisation gains world-wide recognition through organising the first international race in the People's Republic of China and taking its cars to Japan.
